I’m new to this. What should I do? Should I follow a system?
Try following these basic rules and you should have some fun!
With Roulette (as in all gambling) only bet what you can afford to lose.
Set yourself a loss limit. When you’ve reached that limit switch the computer off.
This is a game of chance not skill. Gain as much knowledge as you can to make sure your mistakes are kept to a minimum but remember anyone who tells you that a certain number “must” come out soon is deluding themselves. In a correctly run game all numbers have an equal chance of being dealt on each spin.
NEVER use the martingale or doubling up system. Too many people have run out of money or hit the table limit when luck just doesn’t go their way. Using a system such as this could prove VERY expensive.
NEVER pay for a system. This is a game of chance, you cant beat the odds with a system. There maybe a series of numbers which you wish to bet on to make the game more fun but there is no roulette system which can beat the odds.
Stakes can evaporate very quickly at Roulette – take your time, don’t be in a rush to use your entire stake as soon as possible. Set a staking plan - some say 1%-3% of your betting bank for that session. So if you are prepared to lose £100 in a session of roulette, then your stakes per spin would be £1-£3. Your staking plan depends on the odds you are betting at of course but try to think of a sensible staking plan before you start to play and stick to it. Don’t be afraid to take a break if things aren’t going your way.
You have set yourself a loss limit so set a profit limit as well. For example, you could say to yourself you will stop if you lose X amount but if you get double that amount ahead then call it a day as well.
Be aware of the different versions of online roulette. Some give you better odds than others. The American version has 0 and 00 so gives you worse odds than the European version with just 0. Check out our guides for more info on types of roulette.
Above all have some fun. Be prepared to accept your losses and then the profitable days will be that much sweeter.
