Roulette Basics
What is Roulette?
Roulette is one of the simplest casino games and is particularly popular for that reason. In the European version a ball rolls around a large wheel until it comes to a halt on one of thirty seven slots which are numbered from 0 to 36. The zero is coloured green and 1-36 are split equally between red and black.

For every spin you will be betting where the ball is going to land but there are many different types of bet that you can place:

Red or Black Evens
Odd or Even Evens
1-18 or 19-36 Evens
Block of 12 (1-12, 13-24, 25-36) 2-1
Column (the numbers are arranged in 3 columns) 2-1
Individual Number 35-1

All of these bets are going to lose if the ball lands on zero (unless you have bet on zero) and this is where the house edge comes in. The casinos are making their money every time the ball lands on zero which is a 1 in 37 chance (2.63%).

European Roulette is available at Totesport Casino and William Hill Casino. But there are other versions of roulette with a lower house edge!

Other Versions of Roulette
The game as described above (with one 0) is commonly known as European roulette. There are also verisons called American roulette and French roulette as well as various bonus versions. Please click on the links in the left hand menu for more information on these games.
