Momofuku Ko, a popular fusion restaurant in NYC has created a stir with its online reservation system that works like a lottery. Potential customers log on, register with a credit card and take a shot at finding an empty space in the tiny 12-seater restaurant on a bingo-like grid. Seats are released everyday at 10am.
So they are charged some sort of fee just for a chance to eat at a restaurant? I'm not sure I understood that right. But if so, holy cow! Why would you want to pay someone just to be able to get a seat in their restaurant? There are so many places you could eat.
It must be some sort of famous restaurant that everyone is trying to get into. As any bog standard restaurant surely couldn't get away with this, let alone make any money from it?
Sorry, I post this to the forum as a novelty; I had no intention of taking part in a silly lottery just to get in to one of 12 spots available in the restaurant. I rather go somewhere and eat and go to a casino to gamble
Oh ok fair enough. I thought I would just ask if you had been there. I really don't see though how they can sustain this. People are stupid if they waste money on buying a seat.
